Bulleen Real Estate and Suburb Information

Bulleen is situated on the northern side of the Eastern Freeway and is 16 km (25 minutes) from the Melbourne CBD. Bulleen has a different character to Balwyn North and its expensive southern suburb neighbours. Other suburbs close by are Templestowe Lower, Doncaster, Heidelberg, Viewbank and Lower Plenty. Bulleen is bounded by the Yarra River to the north, Ayr Street and Rose Avenue to the east and the freeway to the south.

Bulleen's residents number around 12,600 and mostly live in modestly sized homes, although large palatial homes can be found in newly developed areas.

The market gardens and low cost land available in Bulleen has attracted many European migrants in the past, especially from Italy and Greece. The 2006 Census shows that while Bulleen residents had a fairly typical mix of occupations, they were older on average and some 12% of its residents were born in Italy, 6% were from Greece and 4% from China. The Italian influence is still visible with the Veneto Social Club in Bulleen Road and at Bulleen Plaza Shopping Centre. Other shops can be found nearby at Macedon Square Lower Templestowe and the newly refurbished Westfield Doncaster Shoppingtown is just 4 km away.

Bulleen has several schools, including Bulleen Heights School and St. Clements Primary School, many other schools can be found close by in neighbouring suburbs. Marcellin College in Bulleen Road is a big drawcard for families with children looking to attend.

Bulleen real estate also offers its residents many options for recreation and a place to relax, including Bulleen Park which caters for a variety of sport for the community and Birramung Park, geared towards walks and picnics with the family.
